scrumptious shortbread

scrumptious shortbread ;)

an surprisingly simple and tasty recipe for the perfectly crunchy/soft shortbread

ingredients:
125g butter,
55g caster sugar and
180g plain flour.

equipment:
a large bowl,
an electric mixer,
a rolling pin,
a clean work surface and
a sharp knife.


method:
1. Heat the oven to 190 degrees Celsius/ gas 5.
2. Get out your large bowl and beat the butter and the sugar until a smooth texture.
3. Stir in the flour until you get a smooth paste.
4. Turn onto a CLEAN work surface and gently roll out with a rolling pin until about a centre metre thick.
5. Cut into desired shapes with a sharp knife (make sure that you do not damage the surface which you are cutting on!)
6. Put into the fridge for around 15 minutes.
7. Finally bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until a pale golden broun.
